Our Heritage
Long before I started selling shampoo, I grew up on a farm and did just about every farm job imaginable. That’s where I learned a handshake is a deal, your word is all you really have in life, and a great work ethic will take you far. Fast forward a few years and I opened a tiny salon planned for 2 stylists and grew to a staff of 6, and booked solid until the day it was sold. During the success of my salon, our incredible sales were recognized by our distributor sales representative, JB Chauncey, who commented, “You need to write a program teaching hairdressers how to increase their sales.” Done. So I wrote an educational program, “The Colour of Money,” inspiring audiences across the United State and Canada challenging them to turn every cut client in to a color client. The program rewarded me with international recognition and respect from industry great, Arnie Miller, founder of Matrix. I felt a tug towards another direction in the beauty industry transitioning into sales and marketing, as well as writing business programs such as “Presentations with a Passion” and “From Shampoo to Champagne.” Recently I had the privilege to work along side industry legend, Sam Brocato, and am blessed to call him a friend. It is such an honor to have laughed and cried with thousands of stylists and clients throughout my career as salon owner, stylist, and professional educator. I helped numerous salons achieve their goals as a Distributor Account Executive and Manufacturer Sales Director and believe the relationships we built throughout life are vital for both personal and professional success. This and my deep respect for our land and nature provided the obvious creation of “Lis’n” professional hair care products, with aptly named “Farm to Fashion™ naturally derived farm ingredients. The quiet breeze and stillness of farm living can be available to everybody, despite our busyness. By creating “Lis’n” professional beauty products I’ve combined the best of both worlds; celebrating the relationship between stylists and their guests while utilizing nature’s gifts from the farm. |
